A Brooklyn, N.Y., company that produces new mattresses and renovates used ones has agreed to recall about 1,400 sleep sets that don’t meet mandatory federal flammability standards.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said The Mattress Cloud bedding was sold in furniture and bedding stores in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania from August 2011 to January 2012.
The recall involves new and renovated sleep sets in twin, full, queen and king sizes made before Jan. 25, 2012. The products have model names “Ultra Support” and “Ortho Type” on the mattress labels, as well as a white “law tag” that shows it was manufactured by The Mattress Cloud.
Most of the tags show the date it was produced, but some with no date printed on them also are included in the recall, the CPSC said.
The agency said consumers owning the recalled mattresses should immediately contact The Mattress Cloud to receive a free replacement mattress and arrange for the company to pick up the recalled mattress.
The company can be reached at (855) 622-4233 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at mattresscloud@yahoo.com.
