Rip off
Don’t bother paying for samples from this business. There are many other websites/businesses that will send the same samples for free. I paid $4.50 per sample—one of the samples was so small it was a joke. Even though they said it was on back order, good business practices would have been not to charge me. Based on that bad customer service decision I chose to do business with another compoany.
Island Coast Note: We really appreciate the feedback we get from our customers, good & bad. As a result of Greta’s experience we have changed our pricing and procedures for fabric swatches. Unfortunately, we’re not in a position to provide large swatches — we simply cut pieces from the sample books we carry in our office. Sometimes even these are too small to cut from, so we have to order a new sample piece from the suppliers, and this can cause a delay. So here’s what we’re doing:
[1] We have made it VERY clear, both on the web page that the swatches are ordered from, and in the description of the item in the shopping cart, that the size of the sample is approximately 2″ x 4″ so there are no surprises.
[2] We have reduced the price.
[3] From now on, if a swatch cannot be provided right away, we will contact the customer and ask if they want to wait until it comes in, or whether they would prefer a refund for the back-ordered swatch.
Thank you Greta, for bringing this to our attention.
UPDATE: We can now send two sizes of fabric samples!
