{"id":262,"date":"2013-04-15T05:33:38","date_gmt":"2013-04-15T10:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pipefinepatiofurniture.com\/blog\/?p=262"},"modified":"2013-04-12T05:35:52","modified_gmt":"2013-04-12T10:35:52","slug":"asheville-ashley-homestores-collect-coats-for-needy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pipefinepatiofurniture.com\/blog\/casual-furniture\/asheville-ashley-homestores-collect-coats-for-needy","title":{"rendered":"Asheville Ashley HomeStores Collect Coats for Needy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><em>Furniture Today Staff<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ashley Furniture HomeStores here and in Asheville, N.C., teamed up with local ABC-TV affiliate WLOS News 13, Eblen Charities and Two Men and a Truck last week for the Spring Clean Coat Drive.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the cold and rainy weather, residents braved the elements to donate more than 5,000 coats that will be distributed to needy families.<\/p>\n<p>The daylong event kicked off at 4:30 a.m. Thursday with ABC WLOS News 13 staff broadcasting live throughout the day from the Ashley location at 233 Airport Road in Arden. Donations were taken at both Ashley HomeStore locations until 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Promotional support on WLOS along with social media efforts from participating sponsors were used to raise awareness and encourage local residents to clean out their closets and donate their old coats for both children and adults. Coats will be organized and cleaned by Eblen Charities and distributed this fall to needy families.
