Grandwood Furniture, a small solid wood furniture manufacturer in Lakewood, WA, whose plant was destroyed in an Aug. 7 fire here, is looking for a temporary location to resume operations, the Tacoma News-Tribune reports.<\/p>\n
Owner R.J. Cleland told the newspaper he hopes to start shipping again in several weeks.<\/p>\n
The fire, which investigators ruled was accidental, started in the plant’s finishing area and was likely caused by improperly disposed rags, the report said. Damage was estimated at $1.7 million.<\/p>\n
Cleland told the News-Tribune that the company, which has more than a dozen employees and annual revenues of about $1.5 million, has sold to retailers including The Old Cannery in Sumner, Wash., and Issaquah, Wash.-based Costco.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
